How do we make the struggle for justice into “the most pleasurable human experience?” How do we confront the obstacles that stand in between us and full acceptance of our bodies, our abilities, our chance to experience joy and love in this life? This service will ask what becomes possible when we — in the words of writer adrienne maree brown — “awaken within ourselves the desires that make it impossible to settle for anything less than a fulfilling life.”

Visiting Minister: Rev. Lois Van Leer
Lay Leader: Rev. Leslie Ahuvah Fails

This Sunday, we take a deep breath. We have been engaged in a labor of love and spirit, working to expand Fairbanks equal rights ordinance to include LGBTQ people. Now our thoughts turn to what comes next. What does it mean to be an ally in the fight against white supremacy and the battle for transgender rights? Who does the most harm — the public bigot or the knee jerk liberal? Is being an ally enough?
