Chalice Circles, adult religious exploration classes, Music in the Woods concerts, potlucks and canoe floats are some of the ways our diverse community makes and strengthens the ties of love and friendship that bind us. We also get together in smaller groups to pursue common interests. In past years, the Fellowship has supported a weekly yoga group, a book group, movie nights, a monthly family fun night, quilting, writing and women’s spirituality groups. Groups change and new activities are added as new people with new interests get involved. If there is an interest you would like to share or a group you would like to organize, please contact us.

Adult Religious Exploration (RE)

Adult religious exploration (RE) classes may be offered several times during the year. The minister teaches a New UU class after Sunday service when in Fairbanks to teach new folks about UUFF and about Unitarian Universalism. It is a good class to take for those considering membership or just those who are curious. Other topics vary from year to year. Popular courses in past years have been Building Your Own Theology, Eastern Philosophy, Deep Ecology and topics in UU history and women’s spirituality. Chalice Circles, which form once or twice a year, are a good way to explore your own spiritual identity while getting to know others in a small group setting.

Chalice Circles

At least once a year, UUFF offers a Chalice Circles program. Chalice Circles usually start in late January and run through April or early May. By meeting in small groups of 8 to 10, Chalice Circles provide an opportunity to learn more about yourself while getting to know other participants in a setting that invites the thoughtful intimacy that comes through deep sharing. The format of the meetings helps participants set aside daily distractions, reflect on their lives and beliefs, and make meaningful connections with one another. More about Chalice Circles »
