Social Outreach / Stone Soup CafÉ

For the second year, UUFF has  committed to help at the Stone Soup Café (soup kitchen) on the first Thursday of each month. They are open from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. and would appreciate ANY help during that time period.  If you can donate one hour or two hours, that would be great.  Some of us work in the kitchen, and others help pack "to go" lunches for the day workers (or those who want to take a meal for later in the day.)

If you are interested in helping, we meet at the Stone Soup Café located downtown in the basement of the First Methodist Church (915 Second Ave.) The Stone Soup kitchen supervisor is Heather, and you can check in with her when you arrive.  There's a sign in clip board list, and please write "Unitarian Church" next to your name so she knows you were from our group.

Feel free to bring another member, or any friends along with you.

Some days, Heather has lots of help, and other days, she's alone trying to get everything done in the kitchen.  If she's short of help, the "to go" bag sandwiches don't get done.

We'd love to see you there!  We have a group of UU regulars who will make you feel right at home.

Questions?  Call Rebecca Clack (479-4798, Email) who is usually there from 8:30-10:30 a.m.
