Chalice Circles, adult religious exploration classes, movie nights, potlucks and canoe floats are some of the ways our diverse community makes and strengthens the ties of love and friendship that bind us. We also get together in smaller groups to pursue common interests. In past years, the Fellowship has supported a weekly yoga group, monthly family fun nights, quilting, writing and women’s spirituality groups. Groups change and new activities are added as new people with new interests get involved. If there is an interest you would like to share or a group you would like to organize, please contact us.
Adult Religious Exploration (RE)
Adult religious exploration (RE) classes are offered from time to time. Popular courses in past years have been Building Your Own Theology, Eastern Philosophy, Deep Ecology and topics in UU history and women’s spirituality. Chalice Circles, which form once or twice a year, are a good way to explore your own spiritual identity while getting to know others in a small group setting. Chalice Circles
Two or three times a year, depending on demand, UUFF offers 8-week Chalice Circles. These groups provide the opportunity to learn more about yourself while getting to know other participants in a setting that invites the thoughtful intimacy that comes through deep sharing. The format of the meetings helps participants set aside daily distractions, reflect on their lives and beliefs, and make meaningful connections with one another. More about Chalice Circles »
SAC Movie Night
The third Friday of the month is movie night at UUFF, originally sponsored by the UU Fellowship of Fairbanks’ Social Action Committee. We look for movies that inform, challenge, and inspire us to action, especially movies that you are unlikely to catch elsewhere. Come enjoy the movie and stay for conversation. All movies are presented in the UUFF sanctuary at 4448 Pikes Landing Rd. Check out the calendar to see what’s scheduled this month.
Hungry Book Club II
The Hungry Book Club II meets in members’ homes on the second Friday of the month. Our discussions start with a potluck at 6:00 p.m. There is no official “club” that you have to join. This is more a social gathering than a serious book club so if you haven’t read the book, but would like to get to know folks better, please come. We would love to have you. Supper Club
The Supper Club meets the fourth Thursday of the month at 5:30 pm at a different restaurant for good food and conversation. For reservations, please contact Marilyn (452-4532) by Monday evening. Check out the UUFF calendar to find out the location of the next Supper Club.
